This award was created in 1961 as a testamentary gift from Charles H. White, a prominent Whitley County businessman who was a graduate of Columbia City High School and Hanover College. Mr. White was active in politics, owned several local businesses, was manager of the license branch, and was a court clerk. This award is given annually to a graduating senior from a Whitley County high school who has at least a 3.0 GPA and intends to pursue a nursing degree at an Indiana college or university.
