Established by her parents, Lawrence (Corky) & Bonnie Reed and family, the award will honor Becky’s prestigious athletic career at Columbia City High School.
Becky was a pioneer of Girls’ Track at Columbia City High School in the 1970s. In a time when girls were first allowed to participate in the sport, she led the way to State in two events for three different years — 1974, 1975, and 1976. She also held the school records in the 100-yard dash, long jump and high jump for over two decades. While the records are impressive, to those lucky enough to know and love her, Becky’s lasting legacy will be her positive attitude, enthusiasm for competition, team spirit and great charisma. These are the characteristics her family hopes will be identified in the recipient of the annual award.
This award will be chosen by the Columbia City High School Girls’ Track Coach.
