Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship

The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship offered through the Community Foundation of Whitley County will include full tuition, required fees, and a special allocation of up to $900 per year for required books and equipment for up to eight semesters/12 quarters of undergraduate study on a full-time basis leading to a baccalaureate degree at any Indiana public or private college or university accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

You will be considered eligible to apply for a Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship through the Community Foundation of Whitley County if you meet the following criteria:

  1. You have been a resident of Whitley County for 12 months prior to the date of this application.
  2. You are on course to graduate in June 2023 with a diploma from an accredited Indiana high school and plan to pursue a full-time baccalaureate course of study at an accredited public or private college or university in Indiana.
  3. You are able to demonstrate that you have financial need.
  4. You can demonstrate pride in the community, responsibility, perseverance, self-esteem, and the desire to contribute to Whitley County through work or volunteerism.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Selection of the semi-finalists is based upon the following: community involvement, activities and/or work experience, financial need, two essays, personal recommendations, and academic achievement. Strong consideration will be given to a well-rounded student evaluated on scholarship, problem solving, financial need, work experience, community and school activities.
